Routine care:
Through the HSE School Dental Programme, primary-school children from second class and sixth class are sent appointments for dental check-ups. Children that qualify to get specialist dental treatment, including braces are referred to the orthodontic department in Cork city as appropriate.
Emergency care:
All children under 16 years of age are entitled to limited free emergency dental treatment to relieve pain, trauma or infection
